ABSTRACT

ObjectiveTo observe the effect of Chinese medication and acupuncture-moxibustion plus Western medication on the pregnancy rate after in-vitro-fertilization and embryo transfer (IVF-ET) in different age groups.MethodTotally 810 eligible patients enrolled between 1st January 2010 and 31st December 2013 from the Reproduction and Infertility Department were categorized into 3 groups according to the age, respectively 20-29 years old, 30-39 years old, and 40-49 years old. The pregnancy rates of the three groups were compared, and the pregnancy rate of IVF-ET after the treatment of the integrated treatment of Chinese and Western medicine was also statistically analyzed.ResultThe pregnancy rate was 54.3% in the group of 20-29 years old, versus 46.4% in the group of 30-39 years old and 26.0% in the group of 40-49 years old, and the total pregnancy rate of IVF-ET was 47.2%. ConclusionThe younger, the higher the pregnancy rate of IVF-ET, and intervention of traditional Chinese medicine following the assisted reproductive technique can enhance the pregnancy rate of IVF-ET.

ABSTRACT

Objectlve To examine the metaphase Ⅱ spindle and chromosome configurations of human oocytes cultured for different times after thawing.MethodsUsing slow-cooling and raid-thawing protocol combined with 0.3 mol/L sucrose and 1.5 mol/L 1,2-propanedio 1(1,2-PROH)to cryoprotect human mature oocytes(n=102),the 64 survival oocytes without abnormal zona pellucida and cytoskeletal were randomly assigned to three groups after thawing:group A:culture 1 hour(n=20),group B:culture 3 hour(n=22),group C:culture 5 hours(n=22),the fresh oocytes served as control group(n=18).Immunocytochefifical staining and fluorescence microscopy were used to assess the morphology of the metaphase Ⅱ spindle and chromosome.Results(1)The normal spindle rates of groups A,B and C were 10%(2/20),46%(10/22)and 41%(9/22)respectively,significantly decreased compared with control group (83%,15/18;P<0.05).The rates of absent spindle in group A(45%,9/20)was significantly higher than control group(6%,1/18;P<0.01).Also,the rates of absent spindle in group A was higher than groups B (14%,3/20)and C(14%,3/20;P<0.05).However,no significant differences were observed in groups B and C(P>0.05).(2)A significant increase in abnormal chromosome rate was observed in group A(30%,6/20)compared to groups B(68%,15/22),C(64%,14/22)and control group(78%,14/18;P<0.05).No differences in chromosome morphology were observed in groups B,C and control group(P>0.05).Conclusions The cryoprotectant protocol leads to a deleterious effect on the organization of the meiotic spindle and chromosome at MⅡ stage. The 3-5 hours post-thawing incubation could permit restoration of the meiotic spindles and chromosome.

ABSTRACT

@#ObjectiveTo observe the protective effect of extract from Morindae officinalis on the oxidative injury of human sperm motility.MethodsThe sperm specimens were cultivated in vitro, the reactive oxygen species (ROS) was made from hypoxanthine-xanzine xanzine (HX-XO), and sperm specimens were co-incubated with ROS and different dosages of extract and oxygen. The motor parameters were evaluated, the motility were analyzed by the test of capillary tube penetrating, and compared with the control group.ResultsThe sperm function were injured, the motility and penetrating ability decreased evidently under the action of ROS, and with a significant difference compared with the normal group ( P<0.001). The sperm motility and penetrating ability could be improved by all of the small, medium and massive extract compared with vitamin C, especially 0.25 and 0.5 g/ml Morindae officinalis had more evident action in the rate of progressive motility and vitality exponent.ConclusionThe ROS can injury the sperm motility and penetrating ability, the appropriate content of extract from Morindae officinalis can significantly intervene peroxidation in sperm by the ROS, and protect the sperm motility.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To study the effects of Yiqi Huoxue Huayu Chinese medicine on neogenesis of blood vessels and basic fibroblast growth factor(bFGF)expression in benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)rats.Methods:7 days after being castrated, fifty SD rats were injected with testosterone(5 mg?kg-1?d-1),the decoction of Yiqi Huoxue Huayu and Zerguilongshuang were orally administrated respectively, after 30 days'treatment, the rats were sacrificed, the prostate volume were measured, and the prostate index(PI)were analyzed, the micro-vessels density(MVD)and level of bFGF were measured. Results:The prostate volume and index of rats in model group was obviously higher than those in normal group(P
